A few previews from our cotton sessions this fall! Depending on where you live, cotton fields can be extremely hard to find. And then when you find a field, it can be very challenging to schedule the sessions as weather can really affect how the cotton blooms and looks.
This year we were lucky to work with an amazing local farmer who lets us use their cotton fields. We scheduled the sessions based on when the farmer thought cotton would be blooming. Because of weather delays, the cotton wasn’t quite as in bloom as past years but still made a beautiful backdrop for photos!
Pros to these type of sessions: Very unique backdrop, organic timeless feel
Cons: You are at the mercy of weather and how quickly the cotton is blooming, and the field can be muddy or have bugs flying around.
If you’re open to last minute photo shoots, try to communicate with your photographer that you could be flexible and shoot with a day or two notice. In that situation, we can gauge when weather and full blooming is going to line up for the best result.
