I was so incredibly excited to photograph this wedding! Maria and I go wayyyy back to when she was living in Nashville. She messaged me last year to let me know that she was getting married in Oklahoma, and wanted me to photograph her wedding! Because I have 2 littles at home I don’t do many location jobs right now but I REALLY wanted to be there for her wedding, so we re-arranged some things and off to Oklahoma I went!
Maria and Noe live on base at Fort Sill in Lawton, Oklahoma. I actually have never been on a military base until this past weekend, and I wasn’t really sure what I’d have to work with! I headed over early and drove around the base and was pleasantly surprised when I found gorgeous fields and foothills, and a beautiful lake beside their reception hall. Maria kept it super chill, and did her own hair and makeup at home with a few family members at home. She looked absolutely gorgeous in her gown and I LOVED the hairpiece she chose for a little extra sparkle in her hair. I also loved how she was very focused on getting married to Noe, and didn’t really worry or stress about all of the details like so many of us do on wedding days!
We drove over to Lawton First Assembly church where they had a very sweet intimate ceremony with their 2 kiddos, Sam and Leanna. After a few family photos, we headed back to Fort Sill base to do their bride and groom and bridal party photos. The fields and sunshine were absolutely gorgeous and I could have stayed for days doing photos, the location was so pretty! After we finished photos, Maria and Noe headed to their reception where they enjoyed heartfelt toasts, dancing and the company of family and friends.
