Jonathan Winfield and Liz Tsui : Fall Wedding at Cedarwood Nashville, TN

We are head over heels in LOVE with this wedding. Elizabeth and Jonathan live in Hawaii. While most of us here in the states go to Hawaii for beautiful scenery, they wanted something out of their norm — and traveled here to the beautiful Cedarwood estate to tie the knot! Love it! These two are the sweetest couple on the face of the planet, every interaction we had with them before the wedding was very happy and upbeat. Needless to say, we were so excited for their wedding day!

Some wedding days don’t go as planned. Everyone hopes for the best weather and temperature but ultimately, we are at the mercy of mother nature for any outdoor event. As Elizabeth prepared in her beautiful Opryland Hotel suite, clouds were moving in and radar showed a large line of storms was moving closer by the minute. Cedarwood has beautiful outdoor grounds, so naturally we wanted to do lots of outdoor photos to capture the gorgeous landscapes. Liz and Jon planned on not doing a first look, but after we chatted about the weather moving in, we decided to drastically change the planned timeline so that we could take outdoor photos before the rain set in. We traveled to Cedarwood and they decided to skip rehearsal and get dressed. The Cedarwood staff, (being amazing as always!) rolled with the changes and adjusted accordingly. Liz quickly dressed and we met out in the preserve area to start their first look before the storm hit.

Y’all, I just have to stop right here. Normally people would start to write off this wedding day as a bust, for photos and weather. But what transpired from here was absolutely breathtaking and magical. By now, rain was imminent… and according to all of our apps, it was supposedly already raining.

Liz and Jon did their emotional first look under the open sky, on Cedarwood’s beautiful wooded trail. The rain held off. We headed up to the garden house, where we continued photos for a few minutes… The rain held off. We then headed to the treehouse area and did more photos… The rain held off. It wasn’t until we were heading into the covered area – it started to rain. The rain on the lake was peaceful, calm, and oh-so pretty.

We headed back on Cedarwood’s covered golf cart, and they started prepping for the ceremony. The rain stopped again for just long enough to do some family photos outside. Then their ceremony was moved indoors, under the beautiful pavilion. Surrounded by close friends, family, and warm candlelight, Jon and Liz said their vows. We adored how the wind would catch and blow Liz’s cathedral length veil throughout the day (and during the ceremony)… It was so dreamy!

Liz and Jon, we truly enjoyed working with you all! We hope you love the previews! 🙂
