I adore these two! Denver and Katie and I started chatting back in October when they messaged me about possibly photographing their wedding. We decided to meet up, but their terms were “only if we could meet up at a bar where Denver could watch the playoffs”… HA! I loved these two immediately.
Katie and Denver originally planned a larger wedding and reception at the beautiful Bedford in Nashville. Along with many others, as the news of corona virus started to come in their plans were suddenly changed. Instead of completely postponing everything, they decided to cancel their large wedding and instead had an intimate wedding at a friend’s residence in Franklin, Tennessee. (PS.. Just in case you’re wondering.. This was a few weeks ago before all of the orders about no gatherings larger than 10 people… ;-)) Lauren at Olive & Ivy Events did a great job with the last minute transition from one venue to another… The home was a perfect backdrop for an intimate wedding! Denver and Katie prepped separately and then did some photos with immediate family and a few friends. I ADORED Katie’s beautiful gown. I can’t think of a more perfect dress for her! Katie wanted a little darker, more dramatic look for their wedding. Even though my usual style is brighter tones, I am loving how this turned out! I love customizing each bride and groom’s photos to the look they want.
After a few outdoor photos, they headed inside for their ceremony. As Katie walked down the aisle, Denver got a little emotional and it was the sweetest moment. I’m pretty sure everyone else had tears in their eyes too, you could just feel the love between these two! Following a first dance and some yummy cake, they headed downstairs for a meal with close friends and family.
It was a great day all around, and the best news is… They’re doing it all again this fall! They’ve decided to still have a big party and reception at The Bedford in September. Hopefully by then corona virus will be a thing of the past.
Katie and Denver, congrats! Thanks again for letting me be a part of your story… See you in September!
