The Details

Laura and Jase had an amazing Nashville wedding, full of songs and laughter. Laura has been renting an apartment at a stunning home in Oak Hill. Once she got engaged, the homeowners offered to host her wedding!! They put together such a sweet, fun day… (and it didn’t hurt that their home looks like a scene from a fairytale story). We loved the bright sunflowers, so seasonal and festive. Her dress was stunning and the best part — it had pockets. Pockets! After doing photos outside, we headed inside for a few. Laura’s apartment has a Juliet balcony and doors hadn’t worked in years. Wouldn’t you know it, right before the ceremony, we wanted to do a photo and they opened!! We were able to get some amazing photos of her looking out her balcony, and the timing of the doors opening could not have been better.

They said “I do” in the living room in front of a beautiful fireplace with Laura’s mother officiating. We love when someone close to the couple leads the ceremony. And because Laura and Jase are very involved in the songwriting scene here, and they wanted their day to reflect the music that fills their life. Jase serenaded Laura and the crowd during the ceremony, and then they had singer/songwriter friends perform at the reception. Jase and Laura even hopped up to the mic for a few songs, what a treat! All the while, guests enjoyed some of their favorite foods… grilled cheese and tomato soup. We also loved their special first dance–with a lift and many spins!! Laura told me before the wedding that having Jase spin her while dancing was something that had become a tradition between the two of them, so we were sure to incorporate spinning photos throughout the day.
